Canopy is a project mainly written in Python, it's free.

A simple python firewall wrapper for iptables (ala APF) with builtin brute-force intrusion detection. (ala BFD)

2 servers: localhost and firewallhost
Passwordless SSH from localhost -> firewallhost --> easy setup with ssh-keygen

=Installation=

All files go in localhost:/etc except canopy.rbl goes in firewallhost:/root --> Place files according to canopy.conf
/etc/canopy/canopy can be symlinked into init.d as required
