: HOW TO USE/PLAY :

First of all, have fun with it. There isn't much here, so this is an important first step.

  • To play an adventure (a template and a filler file)

python basketball.py template_file filler_file

  • To build an adventure on a template

python basketball.py -n template_file filler_filename or python basketball.py --new template_file filler_filename

Where the template_file is an existing template, and the filler_filename is a new filler_file you want the program to create.

basketball will run through the template and prompt you for what you want to have fill each slot. It will then save these in the proper format in the filler_file.

Template files are just text files of the form (without tabs)

SEGMENT2

etc.

Each segment is presented to the player and then the player is prompted for input. Within each segment, there is text and slots

You are running through the SLOT1 looking for the SLOT2.

The SLOTS are replaced with the filler content.


: ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS :

This uses the termcolor library (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/termcolor), which is pretty cool (although I couldn't get blinking to work :( ).

Thanks for Josh Hickman for basically coming up with the initial idea, and sitting around while I wrote some janky Python.
