Build-php-memcached is a project mainly written in Shell, based on the View license.
Script to automatically build the php-memcached extension with a statically linked libmemcached.so

Edit your php.ini
to include this line:
extension=memcached.so
To find where you php.ini
file is, try phpi -i | grep memcached
or look
at your <?php phpinfo() ?>
output.
Run this test script:

$mc = new Memcached;
$mc->addServer("localhost", 11211);
$mc->set("a", 1);
var_dump($mc->get("a"));
Make sure you have started your memcached, Membase or Couchbase server. Adjust the hostname and port as needed.

To build this package from source, follow these steps:
$ curl http://android.git.kernel.org/repo > ~/bin/repo
$ chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
$ mkdir php-couchbase-memcached
$ repo init -u git://github.com/couchbase/php-memcached-manifest.git
$ make
Done.
