flickr_upload

Flickr_upload is a project mainly written in Ruby, it's free.

Simple script to upload images to flickr

flickr upload script using FlickRaw.

PRE-REQ

  • flickr API keys
    • create file flickr_config.rb
    • add 3 values
      • API_KEY - the api key flickr gave you for your application
      • SHARED_SECRET - the shared secret flcikr gave you for your application
      • TOKEN - a token with read/write access for your account - instructions on how to do this will be added later.

set flickr_upload.rb as executable

./flickr_upload.rb

Uploads images to flickr.

All images(jpg, gif, png) in a folder will be uploaded, and then added to a set with a title corresponding to the folder name. No videos are uploaded. Any sub folders will also be uploaded in the same fashion, and will all become separate photosets.

Logging to stdout and flickr_upload.log.

If a set already exists with the title of the folder, the images will be added to that set.

Currently, there is no resume functionality. Work around is to look at the log to see where the script died, remove all folders and images up to that point, and then restart the script.

This is not perfect, and it does crash occasionally. It does what I need it to do without too much trouble. It's definitely a work in progress. Feel free to modify it to your hearts content.
