Gigante is a project mainly written in Ruby, it's free.

Just a sample Ruby application while helping Edgar Silva to play with CoreRest

This project was just a sample Sinatra app to be deployed in Heroku. I was showing a friend how a project in Ruby could be deployed.

Well, but doing these simple REST URI apps can be even easier, with CoreRest! :-)

I was playing with CoreRest (http://corerest.appspot.com) and my friend Edgar Silva (@jedgarsilva) asked me to build a simple service. If would be a function with lastname and name, just to return lastname in upper case and name. The service is running in this URL: http://corerest.appspot.com/service/gigante/daniel/wildt Change daniel/wildt by your name/lastname.

The ruby script is called by the Script Engine from Java VM. When doing this, every variable from Java will be available in the ruby script by using a "$" before the variable name. There's a GIST with a sample Java Code calling a ruby script at http://gist.github.com/550786.
