Interfaces

============

provides wrappers around the existing indirectors/termini

I have been working with Luke to create interfaces that are not wrappers for indirectors

for a full list of functionality run(after setting RUBYLIB):

>puppet interface list

this should list the interfaces provided by puppet-interface-utils

interfaces are always called from the command line as:

> puppet

for example:

> puppet parser get__class_names

  • parser get_class_names - get the names of all classes from modulepath get_classes - get all classes from modulepath get_node_names - get the names of the nodes get_nodes - get the AST nodes

  • test check_tests = list all manifests that are missing tests compile_tests = compile catalogs for all module tests --run_noop = run the catalogs as noop after you compile them

  • dashboard puppet dashboard import_classes --dashboard_path=/usr/local/dev/puppet-dashboard/ import all classes from specified modulepath into the Dashboard

Interfaces as an API

======================

Interfaces can also be used programatically:

require 'puppet/interface/parser' interface = Puppet::Interface::Parser.new classes = interface.get_classes([])
