jquery-drawable

Jquery-drawable is a project mainly written in JavaScript, it's free.

jQuery UI plugin to draw blocks on the screen and perform actions once the drawing is complete

jQuery UI plugin allowing you to draw a proxy over a given area.

Once your proxy is drawn (mouse is released) you can determine what elements your proxy overlaps and apply your callbacks accordingly.

Options: padding - Integer or Object {top : x, bottom : x, left : x, right : x} Padding applied to the "drawable" area. Proxy will not be drawn over the padded area

grid - [x,y] Minimum distance that the mouse must move to trigger a resize. This is useful for creating rows and columns, especially if they do not yet exist in the DOM

allow_resize - Define a function that returns a boolean whether or not the proxy can be resized to the current mouse position. Allows for more fine-grained control of what behavior is allowed by your application

Events: proxy_create - Triggered when the drawing proxy is created. A common use would be to apply styles to the proxy based on the current state of the page

drawn - Triggered when the mouse is released. At this point you can determine what the user has selected and can have your application respond accordingly
