MealClub is a rails based web application for keeping track of groups of people who cook together at work or whatever, planning upcoming meals and keeping track of costs.

More importantly it is a small hobby project, or "breakable toy", to help husband and wife team, Andrea and Kurt learn and practice skills related to software development.

Some of the things Kurt wants to explore include:

• Being a mentor
• Pair programming
• Learn Ruby and Rails
• Spend time with wife
• Provide concrete example for abilities
• Balance my formal software management education with concrete experience
• Develop passion for development of software products from the concept onwards
• Learn about design and usability
• Employ ideas from Agile/Lean/Software Craftsmanship communities
• Learn from open source culture

Some of the things Andrea wants to acheive include:

• Learn what "real" programming is all about
• Learn Ruby and Rails
• Learn to think like a Programmer
• Learn to solve problems as a team by doing this Pair programming thing :-)
