Overherd

Overherd is a project mainly written in JAVA and RUBY, it's free.

Overherd is an information visualization tool that makes patterns of interaction and activity in online discussion boards visible.

Technical Architecture

Application Server / Web Server : NA Database Server : NA Application Framework and language : Java Swing

Development Environment : Netbeans IDE 6.9 or higher ( JDK 1.6 or Higher)


Project Structure

/app contains files related to java project

/dist files created by the IDE, contains compiled app Overherd.jar

/importers contains files related to scripts used to import content from other sources

/jars contains libraries Overherd requires

If you want to build and run Overherd locally with your own data, you need only /app and /jars.

If you want to run Overherd locally with your own data using an existing executable .jar, use /dist/Overherd.jar

Usage: java -jar Overherd.jar INPUT_FILE
