make sure you have a jdk (1.6+) and maven installed
change into the project directory
execute "mvn clean jetty:run" to start the application
point your browser to http://localhost:8080/pte to see the
project engineering triangle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_triangle)
or go to http://localhost:8080/pte/SliderDemo to see how a slider
and a text field are tied together
