=Garbage Collection patch for Ruby 1.8.7 interpreter

This is a port of the {Ruby 1.8.6 GC Patch}[http://rubyforge.org/tracker/download.php/1814/7062/17676/3291/ruby186gc.patch] over to Ruby 1.8.7. I wrote it based on Ruby 1.8.7 patch level 302, but it will probably patch earlier versions of Ruby 1.8.7 without any trouble. This makes it possible to use RubyProf and other tools with Rails 3 for the first time. To install and use it, run the patch command on your Ruby 1.8.7 source folder. Here's an example using rvm:

Now your version of Ruby has the extra GC support; for example:

$ rvm ruby-1.8.7-p302 $ irb ruby-1.8.7-p302 > ObjectSpace.live_objects => 20948 ruby-1.8.7-p302 > GC.enable_stats => false ruby-1.8.7-p302 > GC.allocated_size => 3332
