Rubybnc is a project mainly written in Ruby, based on the GPL-2.0 license.

Depencendies: rexml, in debian: 'apt-get install librexml-ruby'
Edit the config.xml to fit your needings. I think its quite self-explanary ... else come ask on IRC ;)
Run rubybnc: % ruby rubybnc.rb
Then connect to the port you specified in config.xml. When you want to detach, simply /quit.
If you want to shut down the program, then do: /quit disc
