Message Format:

Scripts will communicate with the controller by printing messages to stdout.

A message consists of a series of lines, presumably sent in a single burst. The first line of any message will be the timestamp of when the message was sent, as obtained with gettimeofday_us(). A message is terminated by a single blank line.

The first message of any script will consist of the name of the script, as meant to be viewed by a user, and a list of the metrics that the script communicates, including optional minimum and maximum values which may be used to anchor the graphs. As well there is an optional default value for every metric which will be the value supplied if a value is not given in a particular time slice. Note that in the absence of a default value the value will default to 0.
