Tractor Fred

by Philip W. Howard

Tractor Fred is an open source open hardware electronic throttle governor for tractors. It has features similar to cruise control for an automobile. These features include:

  1. Inexpensive, easy to build-at-home hardware
  2. Runs off 12V positive or negative ground power
  3. Simple connections for tach pulse pickup on gasoline engines
  4. Selectable and tunable throttle control algorithms
  5. Throttle settings from idle to full power for any RPM setting

Key words: tractor, governor, cruise control, throttle control, speed control
