Update_feeds is a project mainly written in Ruby, it's free.
Ruby script to update a set of RSS feeds and growl when there's any new posts.
Simple utility to scan through any number of RSS feeds and post a growl notification when there are any new posts to read.
Preferably scheduled for automatic updating.
