xprintidle is a utility that queries the X server for the user's idle time and prints it to stdout (in milliseconds).

Basically, type "./configure && make && sudo make install" to compile and install the program. See the INSTALL file for more detailed instructions.

You need the development files for the Xss library. In Debian, they are in the package 'libxss-dev' or 'xlibs-static-dev', depending on your version.
