Markup is a project mainly written in Ruby, it's free.
= Another Ligthweight Markup Language
ALML is yet another lightweight markup language. The current implementation is pure ruby.
The overall syntax follows Creole 1.0, except when it comes to lists, blockquotes and nested blocks, where it's more inspired by Markdown and RDoc.
== Configuration
ALML is configurable throught regexp. You may for instance rewrite how links are parsed by manipulating the Markup.inlines Array and Markup#parse_link method. You may also parse new elements.
== Syntax Example
= Heading 1
This is a single paragraph with some bold.
And this is another paragraph.
== Heading 2
this is a blockquote
=== Lists
Unordered list:
You may also use stars +*+ instead of dashes +-+:
Ordered list:
== Nested blocks
You may nest blocks within list items:
item 1
item 2
item 3
this is a nested paragraph.
this is a nested blockquote
item 3.2
You may also nest blocks in blockquotes:
This is a paragraph in a blockquote.
This is a blockquote inside a blockquote.
- a list in a blockquote
- a second item
- first subitem
- and even more:
this is a blockquote in a sublist in a blockquote.
