Spork-perl is a project mainly written in PERL and SHELL, it's free.

Quick utility for (optionally threading) a batch of commands for remote systems in perl.

Small utility for batching tasks for execution on remote machines. Perl version

usage: spork [-h|--help] [-d|--debug] [-t|--threaded [# or -1]] [-f|--filename ] [-u|--username user] [-n|--notinteractive] "remote command"

Defaults to running as same user on remote systems as is run as. -t will run threaded, with the optional param the number of threads, or -1 to thread all

Example: ./spork -d -t 8 -u root -f myhostsfile "uptime" will go to all the hosts listed in myhostsfile and run the "uptime" command with max 8 parallel threads grep nameserver /etc/resolv.conf | awk '{print $2}' | ./spork 'host google.com' will go to all the nameservers in resolv.conf one at a time and run 'host google.com' on them ././spork -f hostlist -t-1 -uroot uptime will go to all machines in "hostlist" and run "uptime" with as many parallel threads as there are hosts
